Top 7 Items to Keep in Storage Containers
1. Food. Storage containers enable people to bring leftovers to work for lunch, and to keep food in a refrigerator for a longer period of time than is normally acceptable. Since foods like meatballs and Mom's lasagna actually taste better as leftovers, we have storage containers to keep them fresh and tasty.
2. Photographs. If you have extra photos that aren't in an album, they are probably stashed into a storage container somewhere. This will keep them dry, away from humidity, and less likely to end up strewn all over your toddler's bedroom floor with little chocolate fingerprint smudges.
3. Clothing. Whether or not we ever actually plan on wearing our old clothes again, we can always keep them well-organized and clean in the off-season with storage containers. Choose clear storage containers so that you can remember which clothes, exactly, you stored in them five to six to 23 years previous.
4. Decorations. Unless, like some of our more colorful elderly relatives, you tend to keep your Christmas tree up year-round to put new decorations on it for every holiday, you probably need several storage containers for keeping the holiday spirit under control. Colored storage containers (red and green, orange and black) can help you find the right holiday decorations quickly.
5. Memorabilia. We don't want to let go of our baseball cards collection from grade school, or the program from when we performed in our high school's production of Guys and Dolls. Little mementos like these help us remember the good times, and storage containers tend to keep them out of the way of our daily lives, yet easily accessible for occasional trips down memory lane.
6. Toys. As children grow older, the heaps of building blocks, dolls, and miniature cars that they used to rummage through become lonely and dusty. Yet, when the toys end up in the garage sale, the kids may not be ready to part with favorite childhood memories. Storage containers keep toys stashed away for your children's children, or for the secret garage sale that you've been planning.
7. Wrapping paper. Specialty storage containers are ideal for storing wrapping paper and gift bags. Use storage containers to keep the wrapping paper crisp, clean, and easy to find for the next holiday season.
