Storage Totes

What to Pack for Safety Precautions

When camping or traveling, you may want to include a roadside emergency kit in your trunk. You can create one on your own with a storage tote and some supplies from your local discount store.

Recommended items for your storage tote:

1. A First Aid Kit with bandages, instant ice and heat compressors, ibuprofen, antiseptic cream, gauze, adhesive tape, and scissors, will be a great start to taking care of any minor injuries.

2. A screwdriver in your storage tote that offers both a standard Phillips and flathead size will come in handy sooner or later.

3. Including a Swiss Army Knife in your storage tote provides you with plenty of tiny tools for small emergency tasks.

4. Carrying a flashlight and extra batteries in your storage tote is useful when stranded at night.

5. Putting at least a couple of bottles of water into your storage tote could help to save a life someday.

6. When you get into trouble with a flat tire, Fix-a-Flat, a can of sealant to temporarily seal punctures, is one of the easiest, quickest, and best ways to get safely from the road to a gas station or tire shop.

7. Especially when driving in cold conditions, keeping a blanket in your storage tote might be the only thing that keeps you warm for any given amount of time.

8. Jumper cables might get your car going, or they might be able to help someone else. These are always handy to keep in your trunk or storage tote.

9. A roll of duct tape has been known to fix almost everything, and you never know when it could be useful in an emergency.

10. Let people around you know that you have gotten into an accident with 15-minute roadside flares. These are especially useful in a situation where it is difficult to see your car accident.
